Karen Reinert was born in Athens, Ohio in 1965. She now lives in the mountains of Tennessee. In her own words... "I am a self-taught wood carver, and am inspired by nature and the outdoors. I typically carve cedar wood in the female form with a polychrome surface. I often leave the natural wood grain showing in Chosen areas. My forms are never duplicated, and what I consider to be "little devas" like fairies without their wings. I often walk in the woods and imagine that I'm not alone, but am accompanied by these beings."
